The first official TRACK-STAR Working Groups synchronous meeting was held virtually on 26th May 2021. The meeting was prepared in advance with the WG members, who underwent a set of constructive dialogue training conducted by the TRACK-STAR partner, James Madison University (JMU)’s Institute for Constructive Advocacy and Dialogue (ICAD). The focus of the first WG meetings focused on the transatlantic topics of importance and building out of the WG’s memberships in the following domains: Environment (Energy, Climate Change, Circular Economy & Biodiversity), Economy (Digital Economy, Trade and Investment, Regulatory Cooperation), and Democracy & Transparency.
According to the project coordinator, James Clarke of the Walton Institute at the Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland, "the constructive dialogue training was excellent in that it provided a good ice breaker for the WG members in advance, and made the dialogues during the WG meetings more efficient and productive."
