Launch Event of TRACK-STAR Working Groups held virtually on April 15, 2021

On April 15, 2021, the TRACK-STAR project held their first external event to commemorate the launch of the 7 Working Groups (WGs) across the following policy areas: climate change, particularly the European Green Deal, energy, circular economy and biodiversity, digital economy, trade and investment, democracy and transparency and regulatory cooperation.

While the project started a few months ago, the first months have been mainly internal meetings including those with the Delegation of the European Union to the United States of America in relation to the setting up of the WGs structure and for the policy dialogues. This meeting with the WG members was the first external facing meeting of the project and the project team presented their work to date, the structure and schedule of the WGs as the members join together with us in our two year transatlantic effort to develop policy ideas that aspire to address global challenges tied to environmental, political, & economic conditions.

The event consisted of a welcome address by the Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the United States of America, Mr. Michael Curtis, who has a long career working within the European Institutions mainly on foreign policy and external relations, trade, development and humanitarian issues, especially in a transatlantic setting.

The recordings of the project team presentation and the welcome address can be found below.
